We feel it is important to support local producers and farmers, so where possible you will always see their produce on our menus.
The aim of Spadework in Offham is to enable people with learning disabilities (Trainees) to develop their independence and personal skills through being involved in everything at the site. The Trainees produce the plants that are sold in the garden centre and the fruit and vegetables served in the café and sold in the farm shop; they help make cakes, jams and chutneys and serve customers in the café and farm shop. Spadework supply The Swan with a variety of home-grown vegetables and freshly pressed juices.
COPPER RIVET DISTILLERY
Copper Rivet Distillery is an exciting and dynamic new Medway based craft distillery. Drawing upon the area’s rich tradition of innovation and craft, the team create small batches of exceptional gins, whiskies and vodkas from scratch in bespoke stills with the same skill that local craftsmen once fashioned world-class ships.
They are the only spirit makers in Kent and one of just a few in the UK that undertakes the complete process of brewing and distilling from grain to glass, ensuring their range of ultra premium spirits is totally distinctive and unique. We are proud to support this local business and you will find their stunning Dockyard Gin behind our bar.
Chart Farm is a family run business that has been producing top quality venison for over thirty years on their farm in Sevenoaks, Kent.
The deer, mostly fallow and sika, are raised on 400 acres of pasture and woodland and spend their whole lives free to roam in a semi-wild environment.
Sebastian and his family have a shop at Chart Farm, selling cuts of venison and other high-quality meats. This means they can supply your fridge at home as well as ours.
Romshed Farm lies just below the lower reaches of the North Downs, just south of Sevenoaks. The farm’s 175 acres are farmed to maximise the historic, conservation and wildlife value of the land.
The pigs live outside in the fields so they are able to root, wallow in wet patches and indulge in their natural behaviour. Only in the worst of wet winter weather or if they are farrowing are they bought into the traditional Victorian pig sties.
Romshed Farm also has a small herd of traditional Hereford cattle which calve each year outside in spring. The traditional Hereford is a slow growing beef breed and it produces a well-marbled texture with an excellent flavour.
Kentfield Country Estate is a small privately run estate, nestled in the heart of Kent on the edge of the North Downs, covering an area of 600 acres the estate has a mixture of native woodland, pasture and wildflower meadows, which crown a beautiful 4-acre lake.
Every season we are supplied with pheasant, wild mallard, boar, wild rabbit as well as Rainbow and Brown Trout. The estate is farmed in a sympathetic way, working alongside nature to ensure that the food produced is of the finest quality. Our popular clay shooting days take place on the estate; working alongside the owner we can tailor either shooting, fly fishing or game shooting for friends and family or for a company event. Once the event is finished you can head back to The Swan to enjoy lunch or dinner with us.
